Sometimes, to surface from writing about mathematics and its infinity of unpeopled universes, I’d need to put humans into my mind. So, I’d play a therapeutic writing game: change screen colour to blue, font to yellow, gaze into the digital sky and type. Rules: content to have nothing to do with mathematics; text had to be self-contained; I had to be able to see all the words all the time. The result — a text filling a single leaf — a digital vignette.
