VIGNETTES

Sometimes, to surface from writing about mathematics and its infinity of unpeopled universes, I’d need to put humans into my mind. So, I’d play a therapeutic writing game: change screen colour to blue,  font to yellow, gaze into the digital sky and type. Rules:  content to have nothing to do with mathematics; text had to be self-contained;  I had to be able to see all the words all the time. The result — a  text filling a single leaf — a digital vignette.

Here are some of them:

ANTICS
AURA
BACKGROUND NOISE
EGGOCENTRIC
HEY YOU!
MEMORY GAME
NEAR THE BONE
OLFAC
PSIKICK
PUNCTUATION
RAGDOLLS
RIDERS
SCRIPT DOCTOR
SUN SZU’S JEWS
